I LOVED this book. Aileen Erin’s Becoming Alpha is the first in the Alpha Girl series. Werewolves, vampires, witches … this book has it all. Tessa McCaide’s visions mean that she has always had trouble fitting in, but a move to a new town for her last year at high school gives her a chance to leave the ‘Freaky Tessa’ tag behind. Things don’t go to plan though and she lasts only a week at her new school. Then Tessa finds herself at St Ailbe’s – a school for ‘unstable’ kids. Could a vampire attack on the school soon after Tessa’s arrival be a coincidence? Maybe she is the target, or – as some of her classmates suspect – maybe she is in league with the vampires.
If Tessa is to live long enough to embrace her powers, she must get to the bottom of the plot. The survival of the school, and everyone in it, depends on her.
If you love a totally kick-arse female protagonist, then read Becoming Alpha. A fast-paced plot and slick dialogue make this a really entertaining read!
